Serious Games. War-Media-Art
Mathildenhöhe Darmstadt, Germany

27 March - 24 July 2011

Curated by Harun Farocki

"War always finds a way", wrote Bertolt Brecht. War is inventive. Along with the use of ever more state-of-the-art media for war purposes, Serious Games. War-Media-Art examines the permanent transformation of images of war into entertainment pictures, resulting in the militarization of the imagination.

Foam Amsterdam, Netherlands

1 April - 8 June 2011
Curated by Thom Keenan and Carles Guerra

Photojournalism is in the midst of a remarkable, and singularly unexpected, renaissance. New practices, strategies, viewpoints, techniques, and agents have radically transformed the institutions and the fundamental concepts of the field. Whilst it has become fashionable to lament the death of photojournalism, actual events suggest that something quite different is taking place. The group exhibition Antiphotojournalism charts these new developments in exciting ways.

All That Fits: The Aesthetics of Journalism
QUAD Derby, United Kingdom

28 May - 31 July 2011

Curated by Alfredo Cramerotti and Simon Sheikh

The exhibition All that Fits: The Aesthetics of Journalism presents the provocative idea that art and journalism are two sides of a unique activity; the production and distribution of images and information. The exhibition brings to the surface how images and information are communicated, and the aesthetic principles used in the act of transmission.

PLEASE NOTE: Broomberg & Chanarin's work will feature in the last two of the three 'chapters' in which this exhibition is presented. Chapter Two: 'The Image' will be on show 22 June - 10 July; Chapter Three: 'The Militant' will be on show 13 -31 July.
